Hustling Without Money

 Crutches

I’m sick of people who avoid chasing their dreams - due to the lack of money. This post is dedicated to my fellow internet hustler that I hope knows he has some things twisted (he is young - but on the right path).

For the longest, even as a toddler, I still remember I was a hustler. Yet, in college, I was declared broke by many of my friends. Most of my friends were getting jobs at retail stores and spending their money on clothes, toys, their cars, hoes, and T-Bone dinners at Ihop. I was known as the friend who always ordered the “Lemon Water Special”.

All I spent my money on was cigarettes. Yes, I know it’s such a bad habit, and yes, I did quit 3 years ago because it took a toll, not on my health, but my pockets. What a waste of money.

I have to admit, it was tough not focusing on money for 4 years in college - it was all about the books and networking for me. Not focusing or having money forced me to have a deeper perception about money and how it is used.

Being broke helps you realize many things and it forces you to think unconventionally. Thinking unconventionally helps you think like entrepreneurs - you start to think outside of the box.

A lot of the time, money is a crutch for many people. Most people were raised under the impression that money makes things so much easier. But it makes the soul and mind and creative spirit so lazy. What if you didn’t have money? You have no crutches - you’ll fall right on your ass and because you never taught yourself to walk without money - you’ll never learn to get up.

No matter how painful it is to walk without money, (it sometimes feels like walking with two sprained ankles), you better learn. Learn quick. Money is a crutch and we put too much value on it. We are paralyzed without it. America forgot it has legs. America has gotten lazy. The American system has taught you to go to school, graduate, work for a boss. They never taught you how to make money on your own, or to be happy without money.

When you learn how to live and walk without money - that’s when you conquered the game. You aren’t a slave to your retail habits. We all have our spending habits and weak spots for products (you drive down a street, and all you see are advertisements everywhere). Conquer that and learn to live without money and be content. Search for ways to make things happen without money.

F#ck keeping up with the Jones.

When I had no money in college - I built networks, relationships, and expirimented with tons and tons of activities to be a well rounded person. It’s like most people I meet let their money talk for them. They flash money like it makes them someone. That’s where they lost the game.

Making money is a game to me. I am a hustler because I want to show everyone that making money is easy and once you learn to let go of the importance of money - the more you’ll make. Money is not a crutch for me. Money is just a new pair of Nike Air Max 95s that help me run faster to my destination.

I’ll respect you if you learn how to walk without your crutches. Until you learn how to do this - you’re just a gimp to me. Quit limpin…

Walk with me.

Good post my dude. I’m in college now and I agree with you 100 on that.

I agree 100%. The American school system teaches you how to get ‘a job’ and earn a decent living. The REAL money, though, is in owning a business. It’s hard to figure that one out on your own…and you often LOSE money when you start out.

you are so right my men. . . i am a college student working on “working for a boss” the rest of my life while working on a not promising job. reading your post really lightens me up. If you have any weekly newsletters or monthly, hook it up.

Well I think that its not about only being an employee or being a boss. I think the real skill is knowing when you need to navigate both and how. Sometimes you find a cushy job that is easy and lets you work on your business or gives you improved contacts and knowledge in the field so you stick around until you got what you need from the situation to improve your own hustle.

This is Jersey826 from BX, and this is another quality post my dude. Although money does make things generally easier in life, and someone having a lot of money doesn’t necessarily mean they will get lazy or less creative. Hell, at times being a success w/ one of their ideas (money wise) will spark someone’s creativity even more because they will now know they can do it.

It’s kinda like playing a basketball game. You get out there and start bricking every shot then you’re not gonna be as confident and prolly not take too many shots. But once you start hittin em’ you just get in that “zone” and will make shots that you never even thought you had the ability to make.

So what if we’re trying to do our thing and don’t have the capital?

What do you recommend? Loans? Credit Cards?

Say we only have one year to get this done..

personally in college i woulda focused on hustling rather than networking cuz if you want to make more money you’re going to end up networking anyway and with dollar sign lenses on.
